Building permit process
- The Building Inspector is available to discuss potential projects at the conceptual stage. During this stage, you can ask questions regarding zoning, Uniform Code compliance and general construction questions or concerns.
- Once you have plans in place, you can submit a Building Permit Application along with the required fee. At this point, the Building Inspector and the Village’s architectural consultant will conduct a detailed zoning and construction plan review. This review may result in a request for additional information or clarification on specific aspects of your plans.
- Upon completion of the review and approval, a Building Permit will be issued. At that time, the person responsible for supervising the construction will be provided with important information, including:
- Responsibilities for site safety and cleanliness
- Compliance with seasonal parking restrictions
- Timely notification to the Building Inspector for required inspections
- Necessary documents for the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy or Certificate of Compliance
