Board of Trustees

Roles and Responsibilities

The Village of West Hampton Dunes is governed by a Board of Trustees consisting of the Mayor and four resident Trustees, each elected to a four-year term. In addition to fulfilling traditional mayoral responsibilities, the Mayor also serves as the Village Administrator. The Mayor appoints the Deputy Mayor and various Village Commissioners.

The Board of Trustees holds monthly meetings on the second Thursday of each month at 906 Dune Road, West Hampton Dunes, NY, and via Zoom. The Board is responsible for the management of Village affairs, the adoption of local laws, budget approval, and oversight of Village operations. These responsibilities are carried out in accordance with State and local laws, and with the goal of promoting good governance, public safety, health, comfort, and the general welfare of Village residents.

Through their collective work, the Board ensures that the Village operates efficiently, responsibly, and sustainably—balancing community needs with available resources
