Where can I park extra cars?

There is NO parking on any Village roads. The Village does have some public parking, but most require fees and/ or special permits. All public parking areas have overnight parking restrictions.

Can we use fireworks to celebrate the 4th of July Holiday?

Fireworks are illegal in the State of New York and are NOT permitted to be used.

Can I have a bonfire on the beach?

Bonfire permits are issued during normal business hours by the Police Constabulary.

Pikes Beach is a Southampton Town Beach, located in the middle of the Village of West Hampton Dunes at 769 Dune Road.

Parking Permit Requirements:

Southampton Town Residents – $50 permit
Southampton Town Senior Resident (62 yrs or older) – $40
Non-residents can purchase a full season pass for – $450

Cupsogue Beach County Park is located and accessible from the western end of the Village of West Hampton Dunes, at 975 Dune Road.

Can I take my dog on the beach?

Yes, but the dogs must be leashed during the period between the Friday preceding Memorial Day, on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and on each national holiday occurring during that period, from hours of 10:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. At all other times, dogs can be walked off-leash but must remain under the owner’s control.

When do I need a rental permit?

Rental permits are required between May 1 and October 31st

Each rental permit issued shall receive a separate and unique rental permit registration number which shall be issued at the same time as the issuance of the rental permit. The rental permit number shall be unique for each property and shall be displayed on all social media and other advertising for the rental unit.

What is residential assessment ratio (RAR)?

A percentage established by the State Board of Real Property Services according to law, using the ratio of assessed value to the sales price for each usable residential sale in a recent one-year period. Ratios are then listed from highest to lowest; the midpoint (median) ratio is selected as the RAR. The RAR can be used to prove that a residential property is assessed at a higher level than other homes on the assessment roll. Your locality’s RAR indicates at what percent of full value residential properties are assessed. For example, a RAR of 20 indicates that residential properties are assessed at approximately 20 percent of their full value.

The ownership and physical condition of real property as of this date are assessed (valued) according to price fixed as of the valuation date. All applications for property exemptions must be filed with the assessor by this date.
